In January 2008 my doctor told me the truth: my numbers were going the wrong way. Blood sugar: over 100. Cholesterol: over 200. Weight: obese. He suggested medication. I refused. So he told me to start running, 30 minutes a day, at least 5 times a week. Like brushing my teeth. I did. I learned that I can do more for my own health than anyone else.
